Is your CHL still active and can it be renewed?
As long as your permit has not expired you are better off with it than without it. And yes it can be renewed… Constitutional carry is a good idea.. But legally you are better off with a permit.
I don’t see why an LTC would help you at all, legally. LTC doesn’t indicate anything but the most bare subsistence level of familiarity with a firearm. Having an LTC is actually a negative since that goes into the databases which flags you as a threat when any cops or other government decide to interfere in your life.

I appreciate what you are trying to do, but you are attorneys, and you obfuscate issues vice clarifying. I remain unclear with your arguments. I understand that there are subtleties, particularly as concerned the law, but I expect that even attorneys can be clear about what, and what is not, allowed under the law. Please try for more clarity and directness. I know you are doing your best, but, having attorneys within my family, I am very sensitive, to the “well, it depends” argument. It is extremely frustrating, but reading the law, i.e. The Constitution, is very readable and understandable, even for those of us not trained in the law.
