Meet Your Missouri Independent Program Attorney: John Schleiffarth

My name is John Schleiffarth and I’m an Independent Program Attorney for U.S. LawShield in Missouri. I’d like to talk to you about why I became a program attorney for U.S. LawShield. Since I value our rights as citizens, I chose to become a defense attorney early in my career. I resent abuses of power by government and find it particularly satisfying to represent firearm owners whose rights have been violated. When I was approached by U.S. LawShield, I found the opportunity to assist firearm owners to be a natural fit. I’ve always been passionate about the Second Amendment from a young age. It is the right that ultimately protects all our other rights. I know no other community of people, in my experience, that are as law-abiding and patriotic as firearm owners.

I remember successfully representing a U.S. LawShield member in a criminal manner. Seeing the satisfaction on the client’s face following the dismissal of his charges was a priceless experience. We got him his firearm, dignity, and his job back.

My most important advice to firearm owners is not to talk to the police on your own. Law enforcement has an important job to do, but it’s not protecting your individual rights as a citizen when you are suspected of a crime.
